Development Background

Every residential community begins life as an undeveloped parcel. The land becomes, in effect, a blank canvas on which the developer and builders ply their craft. For decades, the land now occupied by Shady Oaks was the farmstead of a prominent Southlake founding family. The terrain rose and ascended in a series of hills and meadows across one hundred acres. Groves of massive native oak trees dotted the landscape, providing welcome shade for the livestock raised here. Even with the transformation of the farm into its current incarnation as a luxury home community, much of its inherent beauty remains intact. As the home sites and common areas were designated and planned, every consideration was given to preserving the trees indigenous to the site. Whenever possible, the layout of the community was dictated by the lay of the land. We wanted to make certain that our families would be able to enjoy the same natural beauty that has always existed here.
